Economic Analyst West Africa

H.O.P.E.’s Operations Division (OD) seeks economists to assess foreign economic, trade and financial issues related to the illicit trade in elephant ivory. Focusing on both macroeconomic and microeconomic issues, individuals in this position will work closely with H.O.P.E.’s senior leadership, country managers and, on occasion non-profit, commercial and governmental partners to produce written papers and briefings on practices relevant to the conduct of anti-poaching / anti-trafficking operations. Interns may also participate in the assessment of criminal and terrorist networks, money laundering and other illicit financial activities.

Minimum requirements: A bachelor’s or advanced degree in economics, finance, business administration, financial crimes or related area. The most competitive candidates will possess exceptional analytical skills, proficiency in French and/or indigenous languages and regional expertise.
